Lazy Days Skirt Free Pattern

If you're looking for a super duper easy, and completely adorable skirt to sew a sweet little girl, look no further!  You can find the free pattern for the Lazy Days Skirt on the Oliver + S website.  It is a simple and easy to follow pattern that can be whipped up in less than an hour.  Check out the website for other free patterns and tutorials.

My friend's daughter had her third birthday party on the weekend.  I sewed this little skirt for her.  I had sewn it before for another friend's daughter and just loved how it turned out.  The first time I used some beautiful Amy Butler fabric but this time I reached for my cute little pink and green elephant fabric by Robert Kaufman.  It could not have been a better pick - it was a pink elephant themed birthday party!!!  There were delicious chocolate cupcakes with little pink, fondant elephants on top.  The watermelon was even cut up into little elephant shapes!  Too cute!

It's such a great pattern.  You don't have to worry about sewing a hem because the ribbon hides your raw edge underneath it - such a great idea!  You really don't have to finish any edges when making this skirt.  It is made from the full width of your fabric, from selvedge to selvedge.  Give it a try and let me know how it goes!

Thanks again to Little L for being such a great model!  She loves spinning around in skirts!
